SUCCESSFUL IFRS SEMINAR FOR AGN MEMBERS

Prague, 10th September 2010

The Education Committee of the AGN European region organized a seminar about IFRS for AGN professionals on September 10th, 2010.

Liam McQuaid (Duignan Carthy O’Neil – Ireland and Chair of the Education Committee), Carsten Ernst and Tobias Dreixler (Wirschaftstreuchand Group – Germany) were the presenters at the seminar.

The event took place in Prague, at the Majestic Plaza Hotel. It was attended by 21 professionals from 16 AGN member firms in Europe.

The programme started with a dinner on Thursday 9th, which allowed participants an opportunity to meet in informal surroundings. Next day, most relevant topics discussed were the overview of the IASB, practical application of the IFRS for SMEs, news on IFRS, Business Combination and Deferred tax.

A feature of the Seminar was the opportunity for the attendees to ask questions at any time during the day which lead to a lively interaction between speakers and participants.

The seminar was a very successful event, with positive comments from participants and therefore AGN will be organizing another seminar on IFRS during 2011.
