AGN International Europe has appointed a new Regional Chair.
At the recently held AGN European Regional Meeting in Vienna, Mr. Liam McQuaid’s term of office as Regional Chair ended and he was replaced by Ms. Nancy Cruickshanks of one of AGN’s UK based member firms; Shipleys LLP.
 Ms. Cruickshanks has a degree in Business Studies and Accounting from Edinburgh University and began her career at HM Customs & Excise in the early 80’s in the UK. She worked three years as part of a compliance team visiting local businesses in London. She also briefly worked with the Excise Duty Team and then joined the BBC for some time where she had both a VAT compliance and advisory role. She later rejoined HM customs & Excise and began working for Shipleys in 1999 where she set up a VAT specialist department. Her current role at Shipleys covers compliance and planning, mostly for businesses but also for private individuals. She is member of CIMA, in the UK and CIOT and she is also a Fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians in the UK.
In her free time, Ms Cruickshanks is a keen follower of tennis and is a non-playing member of the Lawn Tennis Association in London.
About her new role as the region’s Chair, Ms Cruickshanks commented: “I am very excited to be the new Chair of the European Region and hope to be able to build on the good works of my predecessors. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to meet many more members of the AGN ‘family’.”
